Revision Recommendations of GB/T 228.1-2010 and ISO 6892-1:2016 for Tensile Test Method Standards of Metallic Materials at Room Temperature

The different interpretations and debates on GB/T 228.1-2010 and ISO 6892-1:2009 in recent years were analyzed and summarized.It is pointed out that tension rate in elastic section does not affect the test results,and tension rate in yield section affects the test results.The tensile test machine with feedback control function adopts the method B shall be in accordance with the requirements of the above two standards, and table 3 in the standard are only applicable to hydraulic tensile test machines without feedback control functions.For the tensile test machine with feedback control function,method C can also be apply to both continuous yield specimens and discontinuous yield specimens.It can not only overcome the problems of markedly low test results,low efficiency and poor feasibility of method A,but also overcome the problems of wide speed range and poor reproducibility of method B.Moreover,the method C is easy to operate and has moderate efficiency,and it can be basically consistent with the historical data measured by traditional methods.Method A,as a method with significantly lower test results than traditional methods,can only be used when specified in the material standards or in the relevant agreements.
