Design and analysis of double-end planing and milling machine with automatic tool-exchange function for processing doors and windows

Since most domestic door and windowproduction machines are in a semi-automatic state,the existing draw-backs of lowprocessing efficiency and lowprocessing accuracy have affected the quality of doors and windows,resulting in more depends on imported equipment. Thus,the design of double-end planing and milling machine with automatic tool ex-change function for machining doors and windows was proposed. Through analyzing the processing technology of double-end planing and milling machine tool,the overall layout of double-end planing and milling with automatic tool exchange function for machining doors and windows was completed. The solid modeling of the milling structure of machining center was carried out using the software of solidworks,and the overall structure of the milling machine body of the machining center was established,in which,the cutting force and power of the edge sawand the spindle were designed and calculated. The power of the main sawmotor was calculated to be 7.5 k W and the power of the milling spindle motor was also 7.5 k W,which met power requirements of the sawing and milling. The designs of the structure of the edge sawassembly,rough milling spindle assembly,fine milling spindle parts,tenon-milling and feeding structure,milling cutter position adjustment mechanism,the mainframe of the milling machine and the selection of purchased parts were accomplished. Finally,the static force analysis of the rough milling spindle was performed by using ANSYS. The stress cloud diagram,strain cloud diagram,and deformation cloud diagram of the main spindle were obtained,and the maximum stress value was 10. 305 MPa,the maximum strain value was 0. 051 527 mm/m,and the maximum deformation was 0.010 946 mm. The maximum values of the strength,stiffness and deformation of the main spindle were within the range of safety,which verified that the milling spindle met the requirements of the design. In this paper,the structure of the automatic tool exchange machining center was simple,being able to process both head and end milling on both sides of door and window,which improved the accuracy of the components of door/windowand enhanced the possessing efficiency due to high degree of automation.
