Calculation of Slab's Bulge Size in Continuous Casting

The calculation formula of slab′s bulges by utilizing the theory on elastic distortion of materials mechanics and creep deformation in continuous casting was obtained. The calculation formula and the effect of static pressure increment of liquid steel were considered. Thus a new mathematic model was set up. The quantity calculations indicated that appropriated arrangement of second cooling water will reduce the size of bulges;The higher the velocity of pulling billet, the larger the size of bulges will be, the velocity of pulling billet varied in 0.1 m/p, the corresponding size of bulges varied in the extent from 6% to 15% at the same position;The effect of the distance of rolls will be more obvious. The distance of adjacent rolls varied in 10mm, the corresponding size of bulges varied in the extent from 10.5% to 21% at the same position.
