Application of porcelain filter in dewatering of mud from sulphurization system

Test, selection and application of porcelain filter in the swage treatment system of a copper smelter acid plant are described. The filter adopted a new type of microporous porcelain plate as filtrating media and consisted of rotor, distributor, stirrer, scraper, slurry tank, and vacuum, backwashing and auto control systems. The mud with solid content of 5wt% at pH 1-2 from sulphurization system was dewatered, resulting in cake with water content of about 50wt% . The device operated in a simple and environmentally friendly way and without any obvious corrosion of material.
