A non-sulphur route to phosphoric acid

Phosphoric acid is generally produced by treating phosphate rock using sulphuric acid,which is the use of most sulphuric acid. However,there are other techniques for producing phosphoric acid,of which the Improved Hard Process claims to offer the advantage of lower cost and the ability to use lower grade rocks compared with the conventional wet acid process,with potential consequences for sulphur and sulphuric acid markets.
