Advanced technology to treat the wastewater generated from the smelting flue gas acid plant

The wastewater produced by Chuxiong Dianzhong Nonferrous Metal Co.,Ltd. is treated by the milk of lime + iron sulfate secondary neutralization process,and the effluent meets the requirements of "Copper,Nickel and Cobalt Industry Pollutant Emission Standards".However,the treated water can be only reused in the area where requires low water quality,such as quenching and floor washing,due to its high total hardness and high salt content.A new technology combining chemical pretreatment and membrane separation process has been developed for advanced treatment.The new technology first reduces the total hardness to below 300 mg/L and the iron concentration lower than 0. 1 mg/L.Membrane separation process further removes the various salts and ions dissolved in the water.The treated water has higher water quality and can be recycled and reused for the process cooling system.The water yield of 84% can be obtained and the rate of concentrated water is 16%.This allows the recycle and reuse of industrial wastewater.
