Design of zero discharge technology for wastewater from zinc metallurgical sulphuric acid

According to the wastewater zero discharge regulation and the standards for the reuse water quality,the wastewater containing heavy metals produced by the wet smelting acid process is listed as the make-up water to supplement the supply used for the purification process.The wastewater is treated with hydrogen sulfide to remove arsenic,neutralized with lime,treated by reverse osmosis and electrodialysis processes.The diluted water produced from reverse osmosis process is used as the recycle water for sulphuric acid production and the concentrated water produced by electrodialysis process is used for the slag wetting to achieve zero discharge.
