A survey of research and development of stainless steels for sulphuric acid service
Liu Huan'an(1)
A survey of development of stainless steels for sulphuric acid service is presented with respects to a variety of nitrogen alloyed austenitic ferritic duplex stainless steels, high molybdenum and nitrogen austenitic stainless steels, high silicon stainless steels and micro noble metal modified stainless steels Details are given to their chemical composition, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and application For the period ahead, new stainless steels should be developed in the direction of excellent performance but low cost by substituting such elements as nitrogen and silicon for noble alloying elements
