THE RESEARCH AND STUDY ON HIGH-YIELDING SPRING WHEAT WITH THE OBJECT OF 500 KG PER MU IN THE LARGE AREA OF NINGXIA IRRIGATION REGION DRAWING WATER FROM THE YELLOW RIVER

These research and study were based on summing up high-yielding experiences ofspring wheat in Ningxia irrigation region drawing water from the Yellow River, took therepresentative state farm of Lianhu and Pinjipu as the testing ground, conducted a number ofexperiments, research and setting an example in large area of wheat field. The average yield ofthe whole wheat field ab0ut 6500 mu on the state farm of Lianhu exceded 500 kg per mu for fiveyears in succession from 1989 to 1993, including the wheat field exceeding 600 kg per mu over ahundred mu. The level of average yield of wheat in the Pingiipu state farm increazed rapidlyyears in succession, going up from 413 kg per mu in 1989 to 496.2 kg per mu in 1993 in thewhole wheat field of 5843.2 mu. The high-yielding law exceeding the level of 50O kg mu in largearea under difference conditions of soil type and soil fertiliiy was put out, the theoretical systemof high yield cultivation representing farming peculiarity of Northwest China was taken shape.
