The histochemical staining methods were employed to investigate the distributive pattern, morphologic characteristics and histochemical property of tongue mast cell in zhonghua big bufondae. The results show that the amount of tongue mast cells is significantly lower than the intestine mast cells( P 0.05)The mast cells are mainly distributed in stratified epithelium of the mucous membrane and the lamina propria later of the tongue tissue,a few are distributed in the tunica muscularis of tongue tissue. Tongue mast cells of zhonghua big bufonidae are proved the mucosal mast cells(MMC),it may be related to the regulation of the blood circulation and sensory function of the tongue.
