Study on physiological reason for difference of sugar accumulation in different Lycium barbarum varieties

Taking the fruit of two varieties "ningqi1" and"ningqi3" as research material,and testing the fresh weight and diameter and length of single fruit,sugar content,starch content,and activity of sucrose metabolism-related enzymes,the paper studied and analyzed the difference of sugar accumulation in two Lycium barbarum varieties.The results indicated that during the development of two varieties in Lycium barbarum,the fresh weight of single fruit continue increased.But the increasing rates were different.The diameter section was more quickly increased in the later ripe stage in variety of "ningqi3" which was different from "ningqi1",The two varieties all mainly accumulated hexose,and the content of hexose increased all the time,but the sugar accumulation had significant difference between the two varieties.The changes of activity of invertase in fruit were the main reason that affecting the sugar accumulation.The qualitative difference of fruit between two varieties is the content and variety of sugar.
