The Macropodus chinensis is a new record of Ningxia fish which distributes inYinchuan suburbs. Its length is 40mm, that is 3 times as much as its height, 4. 2 timesmore than the length of its head, which is in turn 4. 2 times more than that of its mouth.The strip of its dorsal fin is XVII- XVIII- 6 -- 8, its anal fin is XVIII--XXI-- 10 -- 12, the vertical scales are 27-- 31, the horizontal ones are 14 -- 16. It is groupde inPerciformes, Anabantidae, living in the grassy district of shallow water lake and thedrainage ditche of farmland, mainly feeding on wigglers, which should be protected andutilized.
