The practical Significance of the Government's Fulfilling the Ecological Responsibility in the Process of Urbanization

Urbanization is an inevitable stage in the process of national or regional economic development. However, along with the development of urbanization, the increasingly emerged ecological environmental problems become a serious impediment to the further development of urbanization, and it must be addressed in a timely and effective manner. As a public authority, the government is obliged to take the ecological responsibility in the process of urbanization. Government ought to fulfill such responsibility by economic, administrative and legal means which can prevent and solve the ecological environmental problems in the process of urbanization. It should solve the problem of the shortage of resources in urbanization and ecological environmental deterioration, promote the construction of urban ecological civilization, improve the livelihood of people in the socialist harmonious society. promote the development of new types of urbanization and ecological livable city construction, and gradually improve the international status of our country. In the process of urbanization,therefore, the fulfillment of the ecological responsibility by the government is of great practical significance.
