The Crisis of Petty Peasant Production and the Origin of Capitalism

ZHOU Weiwei;
The history of the origin of capitalism is the transformation of small-scale mode of production into the capitalist mode of production. The small-scale production system includes two principles of production and two contradictions: the central principle is the production of the use value, and the peripheral principle is the production of exchange value of commodity production. The increasing demand for land of petty peasants and the trend of land monopoly is the main contradiction. The contradiction between agricultural production and commodity production is a secondary contradiction. The reversal of the central-peripheral principle indicates the transformation of the petty peasant productive system to the capitalist productive system. The different ways of overcoming the crisis of small-scale farming have directly affected the difference between the origins of capitalism.
