Reduction of foraging activity by A.cerana colonies attacked by Vespa Velutina

Two colonies of A.cerana from Yunnan temperate high land and another two colonies from low tropic region were used in the experiment as the reductio n of foraging activity by A.cerana colonies attacked by wasp (Vespa Velutina ). At the entrance of bee hive, the wasp interfering time was 3,6 and 12 minutes re spectively, the foraging number of bees were counted in each minute. Test showed that the foraging number is reduced with the interfering time increasing, forag ing number recovering time post longed when the interfering time lasted longer. The bees from low tropic region were more sensitive for the wasp's attack compar ed with the bees from temperate high land (P0.05).
