The Cognitive Identification of the Western Culture of "Time" in English Textual Teaching——Taking Certain Cases of College English Textual Teaching in China as Example

WANG Yong-quan (Henan Institute of Engineering,Zhengzhou 451191,China)
In college English textbooks "time" cultures are mostly not referred to as the commonly-existing time in physics and unconsciousness and so on in psychology, but as a kind of intentional and horizontal consciousness in the Western philosophy. Not only does it involve the proper understanding of "time",but also is helpful to the interpretation of the semantic functions of language and the subject in a text.Distinguishing "time" issues correctly will contribute to the students' approaching the Westerners' mentality effectively and acquiring pure English fully and scientifically.
