An 11-Bit Oversampling Tracking SAR A/D Converter

A 11-bit high-precision and low-power tracking SAR ADC was designed and implemented based on the principle of oversampling andΔ modulation.The oversampling technology was used,and the conventional SAR ADC was improved in the quantization mode.which reduced the quantization noise,DNL and improved the resolution of ADC.The chip was realized in TSMC 0.13μm process and the core circuit area of the chip was0.135mm×0.144 mm.The post-layout simulation results showed that the ADC achieved a SNDR of 68.5dB and power consumption of 1 mW,which resulted in a FOM of 12.2fJ/conv,when it operated at a power supply of0.6V,an OSR of 4,an input signal bandwidth of 5 MHz and a sampling frequency of 40 MS/s.
