A High Linearity Balun-LNA Employing Post-Distortion Technique

Wideband low noise amplifier(LNA)can simultaneously receive multipath signals which could be the interferers mutually,so wideband LNA should have high IIP3 together with high IIP2.Based on traditional cascode Balun topology,the post-distortion technique was employed at the common source stage which determined the Balun-LNAs performance of noise and linearity.By utilizing a PMOS auxiliary transistor,the second and third nonlinear terms of the common source output signal had been inhibited greatly and then the amplifiers linearity was improved obviously.Across the range of 0.2-4.35 GHz,the amplifiers IIP2 was higher than 23 dBm and the IIP3 was higher than 5dBm.In addition,due to the large noise contribution of common source transistors substrate,a large resistor was connected to the substrate to decrease the substrates noise contribution from 10%to 1%.
