Development of CAD System for the Forging Dies for the Connecting Rods Based on Pro/E

WU Hai-hua,TIAN Qi-hua,GUO Jiang-hong (China Three Gorges University,Yichang,Hubei443002,China)  
Based on the CAD of the technological process for the cold and hot forgings of R175A diesel engine connecting rod,with the Pro/E3D solid modeling software as a platform,by using the feature modeling technology,the3D model of a forging has been directly built from a2D part drawing.The traditional technical route that the design and manufacture of forging dies were done according to the drawings of the forgings and blanks has been changed,and computer-aided design of the forging dies for connecting rods has been realized.Thus the efficiency and precision for designing the forging dies have increased,the development cycles of the forging dies have been shortened,and the traditional design shortcomings overcome.
