Fracture Analysis of Ductile Iron G6135Z Crankshaft Breakdown

Through the macroscopic test of crankshaft fracture of ductile iron G6135 Z with material of QT900-2, and the methods of chemical composition analysis, fracture analysis, metallography and SEM were adopted to analyze and discuss the possible reasons of crankshaft fracture. The results indicated that slag inclusions and abnormal nodulizing were the main causes of crankshaft fracture in casting process. Preventive measures were proposed.
