Prevention and control technology of mud and sand flow accident occurred in fully mechanized caving mining face in steep inclined seam

Seams in Meihe No.4 Mine area the extra thick and steep inclined seams and are excavated with the horizontal slicing and fully mechanized top coal caving mining.Several mud and sand flow accidents occurred from the goaf to mining face,which had seriously affect to the mine safety production.After the study,the paper held that the continued water drainage could make no water or less left in the goaf and the left coal,mud and sand in the goaf will be changed from liquid state to solid state,which could ensure no mud and sand flow accident occurred in the coal mining face.Meanwhile a completed set of comprehensive prevention and control technology with "tubs left for water drainage,borehole drilling for water discharging and high mining level for water discharging" was developed,which could eliminate the mud and sand flow accident in potential and bring the economic benefits to the coal enterprise.
