Design and application of horizontal long borehole for gas drainage in seam roof

In order to high efficiently drain the gas from the overburden cracking and separated layers above the mining seam,a test selection on the selection of the layer selection,parameter settled,layout,design requirement of the drilling site,drilling machine,drilling rod,drilling bit,as well as the rational control of the drilling technical parameters for the horizontal long borehole drilling in the seam was conducted.The test results showed that the gas drainage result of the strike long borehole would be highly dependent on strata location of the borehole location.Once the borehole in the cracking zone extended area and with the rational drilling technical parameters,the rational drainage results could be obtained with the possible longer of the gas drainage length and the effective drainage parameters.The gas drainage problems in the top adjacent strata and goaf can be solved.
