Study on Stability of In Pit Dump with Soft and Weak Base Floor in Open Pit Mine

In order to solve the landslide easily occurred in the in pit dump with soft and weak base floor in the open pit mine,a numerical simulation and the site observation method were applied to study the landslide mechanism of the in pit dump caused by the soft and weak base floor of the open pit mine and to analyze the stability of the in pit dump.Under the conditions,the landslide mechanism of the in pit dump obtained would be two modes,including a single bench arch sliding and a "located-sliding" failure and the paper provided the landslide prevention and control measures of the in pit dump.The practice results showed with implementations on the landslide prevention and control measures of the in pit dump,including a water flow and blinded flow guide system established in the base floor,the slope angle of the in pit dump controlled with 12°,a reconstruction conducted on the base floor of the in pit dump and the displacement monitoring and measuring system established,the landslide problems easily occurred in the in pit dump could be solved under the such conditions.
