Framework for DOC-Driven Civil Aircraft Conceptual Design and Its Application on Economic Evaluation of New Technologies

In this paper,a mixed-language programming approach based on C,JAVA,and MATLAB was developed to integrate direct operating cost model into a multi-level civil aircraft conceptual design program. Based on the comprehensive analysis of transfer relationship in aircraft conceptual design parameters,the program implemented DOC module as well as those typical analysis models in aircraft sizing procedure,including weight,geometrical configuration,aerodynamics,performance,noise and emission models. By analyzing the influence of main parameters,we compared the engine fuel consumption and analyzed the impact of composite material application on the economy. This DOC-driven civil aircraft conceptual design framework can be used as a design tool to perform parametric analysis and to evaluate the economic impact of new technologies.
