Experimental Study on Solar Photovoltaic Direct Current Refrigerator

A 24 V solar photovoltaic DC refrigerator was studied and analyzed in the paper.Solar energy is the only energy source of the system,which consists of DC compressor and storage battery.The USB data acquisition instrument was used to collect the data about the voltage,current and the interior temperature of the system during the operation.Experimental results demonstrate that the solar photovoltaic DC refrigerator can run normally,the running rate of the refrigerator is 48.8% when it runs steadily with no-load,and the average consumption of power is 28.8 W.However,with 0.5 kg water added as cold storage load,the running rate of the refrigerator is 40.1% when it runs steadily.The performance of the refrigerator is improved effectively.
