Preparation of soft and formaldehyde-free printing binder

The emulsion with core-shell structure was prepared with epoxy resin and acrylate monomers via emulsion polymerization.The effects of primary factors on the stability of emulsion and product properties were investigated.The results showed that the optimal formulation of emulsion by weight is 2%epoxy resin,0.4%initiator,4%emulsifier and the weight ratio of core to shell at 1/2,and the glass temperatures of core and shell are-30℃and -15℃respectively.The optimal drying condition is 140℃for 5 min.Using this procedure,the emulsion with good stability and the printing binder with good elasticity,soft handle and good fastness can be prepared.All these properties had achieved the standards desired.
