Women's Interpretation of The Peony Pavilion in Ming and Qing Dynasties

SHEN Yi(School of Literature,Xuzhou Normal University,Xuzhou,Jiangsu,221116,China)
Since it was published,The Peony Pavilion had been liked by female readers of Ming and Qing Dynasties. The artistic figure,DU Li-niang,caused a great resonance among women. In fact, women's interpretation of the drama has never stopped. The women's reading of the drama is characterized with strong sense of gender recognition.Meanwhile, they interpret the work from their own experience.Accordingly, they have a more sensible and subtle understanding of the work and more profound grasp of DU's inner world.
