The Analytical Framework of Barzel's State Theory:A Perspective from the Theory of Transaction Cost

From the transaction cost perspective,Barzel uses property right,power and game theory to study the origin,the characteristics,the function,the scope and the operation of a state,and the relationship between a state and a society.The state originates from the demands of implementing contracts.State,as the ultimate third-party,depends on violence to implement transactions contracts,and it increases the value of assets by reducing transaction costs.The quantities of the contracts implemented decide the functional scope of a state.How to allocate the income of contract implementation reflects the relationship between a state and a society,and the control mechanisms of the operation of a state ensures the rational income allocation.
