PERELIMINARY STUDY ON THE ANTI-FUNGAL ACTIVITIES AND MICROWAVE-ASSISTED EXTRACTION OF ALOE ARBORESCENS

In this paper, the anti fungus activities of the aloe ( Aloe arborescens Mill), on some pathogenic fungi of several crops are studied and microwave assisted extraction of the aloe is compared with the conventional method. It is found that the extracts of the aloe show different inhibiting activities of fungal growth against Rhizoclonia solani, Fusarium gyamineayum, Physalospora piricola, Alternaria solani and Mycosphaerella arachidicola anong which the extract of the leaf peel of the aloe shows 100% fungus inhibiting ratios on Rhizoclonia solani and Fusarium gycmineayum. From the comparing tests, it is shown that microwave assisted method reduces the extraction time and increases extraction rate of the effective components in the aloe.
