Case-control Studies on Risk Factors to Migraine Patients in Northwest China

Risks factors of 896 migraine cases in twelve sampling spots of northwest China were searched analyzed through 1 :1 pairing casecontrol studies, indicating that the odds ratio (OR) for positive familial bistory of migraine was 6.6—even higher among female cases, the OR for for positive personal history of allergic disease(s) in migraine cases themselves was 3.5,and, the OR for familial history of allergic disease(s) was 2.4 (Pal0.0l). It was found out that, for migraine cases, risk factors in diet were,(1) fond of some special kinds of food,(2) fond of stimulating foods, (3) habit of eating foodstuffs made of flour. Lack of sufficient sleep was also found out to be a risk factor.Lastly, emotional upset, taking in some unusual dishes, rapidly changing weather, strong offensive smells were found out to be inducing factors to migraine attacks.
