The clinical value of CT guiding ~(125)I radioactive particle implantation combined with GS chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer

Objective To explore the clinical value of CT guiding ~(125)I radioactive particle implantation combined with GS chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer. Methods The clinical data of 83 cases advanced pancreatic cancer patients were reviewed retrospectively in our hospital. According to the different treatment methods,the patients were divided into two groups. A group had 36 cases and B group had 47 cases. A group adopted CT guiding radioactive ~(125)I ion implantation combined with GS chemotherapy,B group were treated with GS chemotherapy. The two groups were compared by the clinical efficacy,adverse reactions and long-term survival. Results The short-term objective efficiency(ORR,52. 78%) and the rate of disease control(DCR,77. 78%) in group A were significantly higher than that in group B(ORR 29. 79% and DCR 55. 32%). The median progression free survival time in group A and group B were 10. 3 months and 6. 1 months respectively. The median survival time of the patients in group A and B were13. 2 months and 9. 8 months. The progression free survival and overall survival in group A were significantly better than those in group B(P 0. 05). No serious adverse reactions occurred in group A after CT guiding ~(125)I implantation. There was no significant difference in chemotherapy related adverse reactions between the two groups(P 0. 05). Conclusion CT guiding ~(125)I implantation combined with GS chemotherapy has significant short-term and long-term effects in the treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer. It helps to improve the quality of life and prolong the survival time of patients.
