Safety Evaluation and Remaining Life Analysis of Main Steam Pipes in Power Plants
Jun-Rui Yu and Jian Zhou (Thermal Power Plant of Shanghai Petroleum Chemistry Co., Ltd., Shanghai 200540)
It is a common problem that power generating machines are still in operation beyond their life expectancy. On the basis of the field test and experimental study, the change of material properties after a long period of high-temperature operation and its effect on operation are described, and the remaining life of main steam pipes is analyzed. The experimental results show that the increase of the fragility-transition-temperature is one of the main factors affecting the operating life.
