Numerical and experimental study on the flow and heat transfer performance of a plate-fin heat exchanger using for environmental protection

A single channel of the rectangular plain-fin heat exchanger was selected for numerical simulation by FLUENT.Firstly,numerical simulations were conducted under the same working condition on three group(nine types)fins which dimensions are different in wave height and wave pitch.The ones with best heat transfer and drag performance were picked out from each group,and numerical simulations were then conducted on the three types of fin under different working conditions.The only one with best heat transfer and drag performance was finally picked out,and experimental study on the heat exchanger with the best fin type was conducted.At the same time a comparative analysis was done between the numerical and the experimental results,and the accuracy of the numerical simulation was thus proved.
