Modeling method and numerical simulation of transient flow in the electronic gasoline injector

In order to study the transient flow in the electronic gasoline injector,the geometric model and mathematic model of the injector were established in this paper.A dynamic grid technique in the FLUENT code and a self-compiled program were used to control the boundary conditions,and the movement of the ball valve for the injector was simulated including calculations of the ball velocity and forces.In this modeling method,every step of computation was decided by the former flow field so that the consistency of the numerical simulation was ensured.Through every step of iteration,we can get statistics of pressure,velocity and flow at any time inside the injector.The results showed that the transient flow modeling method for the injector is effective and the acquired simulation results show good agreement with the experimental data.Cavitation generation,expansion and disappearance at the nozzle corner during fuel injection were also investigated and the velocity distribution at the nozzle exit was given by the simulation.
