Experimental study on underwater noise from steam jet with triple ejectors

Intense noise is aroused by steam bubble collapsing and perturbation of steam jet flow during steam ejection under sub-cooled water.In this paper,experiments were done to research the variation of underwater noise caused by steam jets with different structures of triple ejector and under different water temperatures and different steam fluxes.The results showed that the A-weighted sound pressure of underwater jet noise is mainly affected by the water temperature,steam flux and ejector structure,among which the water temperature is the main influencing factor.Jet noise is increased as the steam flow is added.Under the experiment conditions,jet noise is reduced when the diameter or the relative pitch of the ejector nozzles is decreased.
