Study on enhancement of heat transfer in porous media in isothermal chambers

The isothermal chamber is a special container which is widely applied in the pneumatic system.The temperature in the chamber remains unchanged during charging and discharging.In order to enhance the heat conduction from the wall to the inside of the chamber during discharging,the distribution of thin copper wires on the chamber cross-section was studied.Based on the porous media model,optimization work was carried out at a certain filling density of thin copper wire to obtain the two-layer and three-layer variable densities of copper wires distribution for a minimum thermal resistance of the container cross-section.Compared with the case of uniform filling,the thermal resistance decreased by 37.63% and 43.70%,respectively.The results of the study showed that the heat conduction from the wall to the inside of the chamber can be enhanced by changing the distribution of thin copper wires in the isothermal chamber.
