The image of the teacher has been widely used in the multimedia instructional videos. Two experiments were conducted to explore the effect of teacher's image in the multimedia video learning.Eye tracking technique was used to record online learning data.In Experiment 1,the multimedia teaching video was divided into the teacher's image region and the PPT text region. In Experiment 2,the PPT text region was replaced by the PPT picture to generalize the results of experiment 1.The results indicated as follows:The dynamic region of teacher's image was easier to attract the learners' attention, and was processed more sufficiently than the text region. The teacher's image seem to facilitate the processing of instruction material and lead to better learning performance when the teacher's image region and PPT text region were all included in the teaching video. However, when the teacher's image region and PPT picture region were presented simultaneously, there was no relationship between teacher's image and learning outcomes.
