The feasibility research of low dose of contrast agent combined with lower tube voltage enhancement CT scan on patients with renal carcinoma

LI Sheng-li;FANG Fei-hong;Huangshan Chang Ren Hospital;
Objective To discuss the feasibility of low dose of contrast agent combined with lower tube voltage enhancement CT scan on patients with renal carcinoma.Methods A total of 16 patients with renal carcinoma admitted in our hospital were selected and divided into the control group(n=8) and the observation group(n=8) randomly.All patients were given abdominal enhanced CT scan examination.The patients of the control group were given conventional angiography dose contrast agent(1.5 ml/kg) and conventionaltube voltage(120 kv),while the patients of the observation group were given low dose contrast agent(1.0 ml/kg) and low voltage(90 kv).To collect all the stage cortex(CMP) and medulla(NP) image respectively and compare the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR),contrast noise ratio(CNR) and renal parenchyma and the tumor tissue of interested area(ROI) of CT value differences between the two groups.Results There were no statistical significance about CT values on tumors of the kidney and renal cortex of CMP and NP image(all P 0.05).The radiant quantity on CMP and NP image of the research group were obviously lower than that of the control group,the differences were statistical significance(P 0.05).Conclusion Low dose of contrast agent combined with lower tube voltage enhancement CT scan can obtain excellence image and cause less damage to the body and it is worth popularizing in clinical application.
