Combinational Application of Genetic Programming and Simulated Annealing in Distillation Process Synthesis

Genetic Programming is combined with Simulated Annealing and applied in synthesis of multi-component distillation process. On one hand, Genetic Programming is used to determine the optimal distillation process structure. On the other hand, Simulated Annealing is used to optimize the continuous variables in the process, that is, the reflux. Therefore, by the combination of Genetic Programming and Simulated Annealing, an optimal distillation process is obtained. An example is given to illustrate that the method is effective.
