Effects of Urea Hydrogen Peroxide on the Growth of Sea Cucumber(Apostichopus japonicus)and the Sediment Environmentof Its Culture Waters

The present study determined the effect of urea hydrogen peroxide at different concentrations on the benthic environment of sea cucumber culture waters.Urea hydrogen peroxide was added at 6concentrations(0as control,0.50,0.75,1.5,3.0and 6.0mg/L).Specific growth rate of sea cucumber and 6 physio-chemical parameters were measured.The results revealed that the sea cucumber at0.75mg/L showed the highest specific growth rate;the highest Eh value of sediment appeared at 0.75mg/L,which was significantly different from that of control(P0.05);the nitrate nitrogen and total nitrogen peaked at 0.75mg/L,which were significantly different from those of control(P0.05);andammonium and nitritenitrogen minimized at 0.75mg/L,which were significantly different from those of control(P0.05).In conclusion,urea hydrogen peroxide can effectively improve the benthic condition and promote the growth of sea cucumbers at 0.75mg/L as the most suitable.
