There is a certain circulation among the bridge arms of the modular multilevel converter high-voltage dc transmission system(MMC-HVDC),which directly affects the stability of the system. In order to restrain circulation, based on the characteristics of double frequency component, the two phase rotating coordinate system, the mathematical model of circulation of MMC is established under, and then the proportional resonant controller(PR controller)is designed which can restain the circulation,on thaat basis, the bridge arm current feedback is supplied. Finally, the simulation model of the 21 level MMC system is built through the PSCAD/EMTDC environment, and the simulation results show that the performance of PR controller is optimized, and the stability of the system and the ability of rapid circulation suppression are improved.
