Study of a Corrosion-resisting and Brightness Aluminum Alloy

Yao Guangchun Sun Ting Zhao Yuehong (Material and Metallurgy College, Northeastern University, Shenyang, 110006,China)  
Al-Mg-Mn-RE alloy was studied in this work. Alloy composition was selected by orthogonal design, and alloy sample was made. The corrosion rates of these alloy samples was measured by weight-loss test and electrochemistry test, to compare their corrosion-resisting characteristic. Their tensile strength, percentage elongation and HB hardness were measured. The results showed that Al-Mg-Mn-RE alloy is a kind of excellent corrosion resisting material.
