CHROMATIC POLYNOMIALS REPRESENTING TRIANGULATED GRAPHS

Bao Xuewen (Qinghai Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Madicinc College)
ABSTRACT A chromatic polynomial f(λ) is called a T-polynomial if P(G,λ)=f(λ) impli- es that G is a triangulated graph. In this paper,we give a necessary and sufficient condition for the polynomials f(λ)=(λ-i)(λ-j)(λ(λ-1)...(λ-q)) to be T-polyno- mials. Also a necessary condition for f(λ)=λ(λ-1)~(n_1)(λ-2)~(n_2)...(λ-q)~(n_q)to be T-polynomials is derived, where q≥4,and n_1,n_2,...,n_q are positive integers.
