Distribution of Gene Frequency of Ear Lobes in Baiku yao Population

Objective. To understand the distribution of gene frequencies of ear lobes in the Baiku Yao. Methods: A morphological survey on 539 random people of bai-ku Yao nationality living in lihu and Baxu country of Nandan county in Guangxi were carried out in August, 1999. Meanwhile, the gene frequencies of ear lobes were calculaled out according to the Hardy-weinberg law. Results: The frequency of dominant gene (T) was 0.3122, the frequency of dominant gene was not significantly different betwen male and female (male=0.3103, female=0.3172, P0.05), Gonclusion: The frequency of dominant gene was lower than that of recesive gene in Baiku Yao population, and the hereditary feature of ear lobes were related with nationality and sex.
