The Improved Design of an Underground Water Pipe Leak Hunting Instrument

The data acquisition and correlation data processing system, as the main part of the subject Intelligent Instrument for Leakage Detection of Pipeline Underground, combines data collection with data processing functions. Based on 80C196 microprocessor,the system can get the data and display the curves on an LCD screen. Using 96 assembler language,modularized software design is easy to read and is easy improved. In order to speed the correlation calculation,polarity correlation algorithm is implemented. Thisarticle focus on the ideasofcorreltion detection. The hardware and software design are slso discussed to gether with thepracticalresults.
