Comparison of The Aammonia-removing Eefficiency of Five Biofilters in Rrecirculating Aquaculture System During Biofilm Cultivation

The effect of bio-films produced by 5 biofilters in removing dissolved NH+4-N,NO-2-N and NO-3-N was examined in closed recirculating system and the relationship of the three types of inorganic nitrogen was also explored. The results showed that during biofilm cultivation,the 5 biological filter materials all led to the decline of NH+4-N concentrations with the time,the initial increase of NO-2-N to the peak and the following steady decrease,and the gradual increase of NO-3-N. Of the five materials,the coral sanstone and red breathing loop were better than other materials in removing inorganic nitrogen. They could form biofilms in 23 d,and the NH+4-N removal rate could reach 93. 0% 、92. 5%.
