Raw Material Preparation and Crystal Growth of the Mid-infrared Laser Crystal Er:KPb_2Cl_5

The raw material treatment and crystal growth of mid-infrared laser crystal Er: KPb_2Cl_5 were reported in this paper.During the processes of synthesizing KPb_2Cl_5,the raw materials tended to hydrolyze and oxidize,so we designed an appropriate project to treat the raw materials and synthesized the rare-earth doped chloride.Then we got one transparent Er-doped KPb_2Cl_5 crystal with the size of 22×10×5mm~2 successfully,and measured its XRD and absorption spectrum.
