Solvothermal Crystallization and Optical Absorption Behaviors of FeS_2

Micro/nano pyrite FeS2 were crystallized by a solvothermal process using Fe(NO3)3·9H2O and NH2CSNH2 as raw materials in ethanol solvent.The morphology of the as-prepared FeS2 was effectively controlled by varying the reaction temperature and concentration of raw materials.The typical prepared FeS2 was characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The results show that the FeS2 samples are in a typical cubic phase.As the temperature and concentration varying,the obtained FeS2 samples show various unique morphologies including the smooth sphere,hexagonal flake and aggregate sphere.At the same time,a possible mechanism for chemical reaction formation of the FeS2 crystallites was discussed.The optical Absorption test was employed to show the optoelectronic properties of these FeS2 crystallites according their UV-vis spectra.
