Progress of the Difference in Different Synthetic Diamond/Metallic Film Interfaces

The different synthetic diamond / metallic film interfaces take on different surface morphology characters during the diamond synthesis by transition metal catalyst at high pressure and high temperature(HPHT).Revealing the essence of the interfacial morphology plays a great important role in research of diamond growth mechanism.In this paper,the recent progress of diamond growth mechanism are summarized in terms of the metallic film interfaces′morphology,composition and microstructure,and the applications of EET(Empirical Electron Theory in solid ang molecules) and TFDC(improved Thomas-Fermi-Dirac-Cheng theory) are discussed too.The future research directions are proposed based on the summary.
