Effect of Annealing Temperature on the Luminescence Properties and Energy Transfer Processes of ZrO_2 and ZrO_2∶Pr~(3+) Nanocrystalline

Nanocrystalline ZrO2 and ZrO2∶Pr3+ were prepared by a co-precipitation method.The crystal struture and particle size were characterized by XRD.The effect of annealing temperature on luminescent properties of nanocrystalline ZrO2 and energy transfer processes of nanocrystalline ZrO2∶Pr3+ were studied.With increasing annealing temperature,the crystalline phase of nanocrystalline ZrO2 was changed from tetragonal phase to monoclinic phase,the particle sizes increase,and luminescent intensity increases.The luminescent procedure of nanocrystalline ZrO2 were discussed.The energy transfer efficiency between the nanocrystalline ZrO2 host and Pr3+ increases with increasing annealing temperature.A model for microscopically explaining the energy transfer processes between the nanocrystalline ZrO2 host and Pr3+ was given.
